Boyolali, August 3, 2026 – Students of the 2026 UNDIP Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) Team II IDBU 13 from the Information and Public Relations Study Program carried out a multidisciplinary program entitled Read Aloud and Story Report at SD Negeri 2 Teras, Teras District, Boyolali Regency. The program involved fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students and was conducted in two phases, from July 21–23 and July 27–29, 2026, to foster reading habits while improving literacy skills and students’ self-confidence.
During the first phase, the KKN students introduced the Read Aloud method by reading stories aloud with engaging intonation and expression. After the storytelling session, students participated in an interactive quiz to assess their understanding. Each student then received a Story Report worksheet to complete independently based on a book they read over the following week.
In the second phase, students submitted their completed Story Reports and practiced the Read Aloud method independently in front of the class. The KKN students also assisted in evaluating the Story Reports and presented appreciation awards to students with the best performance throughout the program.
As part of the program, Fauziah Hafidz, a student from UNDIP’s Information and Public Relations Study Program, developed the Story Report literacy media. This worksheet helps students identify story elements by recording the book title and author, recognizing characters, choosing a favorite character and explaining why, summarizing the story, identifying its moral message, describing their favorite part, and rating the book. Through this activity, students were encouraged not only to read but also to understand, process, and reflect on what they had read.
In addition, Fauziah Hafidz designed publication media to communicate each stage of the program to the public. The publications documented the Read Aloud sessions, interactive quizzes, Story Report completion and submission, and students’ independent reading performances, making the program more accessible and informative.
She also created the “Best of Story Report” publication featuring outstanding students from each grade level along with congratulatory messages. This publication was intended to recognize students’ participation, dedication, and enthusiasm while motivating others to continue developing their reading habits and literacy skills.
The Principal of SD Negeri 2 Teras, Sri Purwanti, expressed appreciation for the program, stating that it provided an engaging learning experience for the students.

Through the development of the Story Report, publication media, and the Best of Story Report appreciation publication, the UNDIP 2026 Thematic KKN Team II IDBU 13 Group 2 hopes this program will provide lasting benefits in supporting literacy culture at SD Negeri 2 Teras and continue to serve as sustainable learning and publication media within the school environment.
